A Few Non-Beauty January Favourites

Happy February Everyone!

I can’t believe that January, my birthday month is officially over! Seems like just yesterday that we were bringing in 2015. January kicked off to an intense start for sure but through it all I managed to fall in love with few things that I wanted to share with you!

Favourite Album – LP1 by FKA Twigs
I discovered FKA Twigs this month and OMG! Where have you been all my life?! This album is absolute FIRE! It’s been on repeat in my car for the past two weeks along with my second favourite album this month, D’Angelo’s Black Messiah. Both of these albums are what I would categorize as R&B/soul music but FKA Twigs has more of a sensual feel to it. She has a “whisper voice” so don’t expect her to saaang or anything but the instrumentals are crazy. And to think I only knew her as Rob Pattison’s new girlfriend last month…

Favourite TV Show – Parenthood
Earlier this week one of my favourite TV shows, Parenthood came to an end and of course I cried. I’ve absolutely loved this show for six seasons and it holds a special place in my heart because it was a show only one other friend of mine watched. Over the years we’d lose touch but this show was always something we could bond over.. Wonder what we’ll talk about now? Lol. No but seriously, I can’t believe it’s over. If you’re looking for a genuine, heart-warming TV show about love and family (think Brothers & Sisters) then this is your show.

Favourite New Blog – Eat.Drink.Lagos
Anyone that knows me knows I love to eat out. So when I discovered Eat.Drink.Lagos earlier this month, I read the entire blog in one sitting. No lie. It’s a restaurant review blog and it’s helped put a lot of (new and old) places on my radar. Besides having brutally honest reviews I love the banter between the writers Nosa and Folly. Their humor is right up my street and they run a lunch club that I’m planning to attach myself to one of these days. I absolutely love their blog.. Is it sad to say I wish I’d started it? because I do!
