Maintenance
This hair was a lot easier to manage than my AKC. I put a little conditioner and water in my spray bottle and spray my curls every other day. This helps to refresh the curls and sometimes I’ll use some curling mousse to keep the hair from growing (yes this hair grows) into a huge afro. Now I love big hair but I work in a professional environment so I try to keep it tame during the week. After spraying it with water and conditioner and putting in bit of mousse, I’ll rake some leave in conditioner through it with my fingers (currently using the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie – go figure these extensions love it!) and let it air dry. On the weekends I’ll wash and deep condition it and use a wide-tooth comb to detangle any knots (gently!)
Blending
Wigs vs Weaves
After all my blending drama I just decided to make a full wig (no leave out). The great thing about curly hair is full weaves/wig look a lot more natural than full wigs/weaves with straight hair. So I’ve been able to keep all my hair protected which is perfect. I’ve been wearing weaves a lot more this year than last (so far I’ve had three) and it’s so easy to get caught up in the convenience of putting your hair away for 4 weeks at a time. I haven’t noticed that my natural hair’s suffered at all (I’m always good with moisturising, cowashing and deep conditioning it even when I have a weave) but for me the biggest issue is detangling my extensions! Its 100% easier for me to detangle curly extensions when its off my head. I also experience less matting at the nape when its on a wig also. All the pictures in this post were taken with this hair installed as a full wig – made by me! And I’ve found it a lot easier to cope with since doing it.

Hi,
I was wondering what you did for the closure bit of your wig. I really want to make one but I don't know how to close it to look like yours.
Ifeyinwa says
Hi Amy, Its a full wig with no closure. The closest thing to describe how I closed it will be to check out my Fringe Wig post. I followed that technique but sewed it instead of bonding x
