Hi Dolls!
Ever since I posted my Nazuri Curls Show & Tell I’ve been getting so many questions on how I’m finding the hair, how I take care of it, blend my own hair with it etc so here I am answering all your questions – because I love you! Lol
What hair do I have and how have I worn it?
I have been wearing this hair for about 2 months now and I can’t say how much I love it enough. I got 3 bundles of 18″, 20″ and 22″. My first install was a weave where I left about an inch of leave out around the perimeter of my head and leave out on the side. I wore my weave for 6 months straight (bad girl I know). After I took the weave out I decided to make a u-part wig with the extensions and trimmed about 4 inches off of it to give me a bob.
It’s just so much easier for me to take care of my OWN hair when I’m wearing a wig instead of a weave. And yes I still make custom wigs in my store if you’re interested 🙂
Please excuse my BATTERED wig head, she’s been through a lot |
How do you take care of your Nazuri Curls Afro Kinky Curly extensions?
Now, don’t let the curls fool you, this hair is a lot of work! Just like my own hair it thrives off moisture and will not be ignored lol.
Daily – I mist my hair with water in the mornings using my trusty spray bottle. After that I will finger comb it with some leave-in conditioner and saturate it with the product. I’ve been using the Dark N Lovely Au Naturale Curls conditioner for this (reviews up next week!). After that I seal it in with some oil for shine.
Bi-Weekly – I co-wash this hair twice a week with whichever conditioner I have laying around. The reason I do this is because its the best way to refresh the curls and makes them POP!
My hair after a co-wash – yes its on a toilet seat don’t judge me lol |
Weekly – I wash my hair with a non-sulphate shampoo, rake a detangling conditioner through it and finger comb any knots out. The weekly deep condition is a habit I’ve kept up with since the beginning of my hair journey and pretty much has stayed with me ever since then. It’s great for keeping your hair soft and shiny. I’ll put a shower cap over it (or put the wig in a plastic bag) for a few hours and rinse it out.
At Night – When I was wearing it as a weave I’d sleep with a pineapple aka high ponytail at the top of my head and tie a silk scarf around the base to protect my hair.
Drying – I always prefer to let my extensions air dry but if I’m in a hurry I will use my blow dryer on a low heat setting
How do you blend your own hair with the extensions?
This has to be the most frequently asked question about my Nazuri Curls extensions. Its pretty simple. At night I moisturise my hair with my Kinky Curly Knot Today leave-in and seal with my oil blend. Then I do about 5 chunky twists on my leave-out, I like to make each twist about the size of a curl. I let them dry completely then I unravel the twists and voila! Sometimes I’ ll even leave the twists in and just pin them down into the extensions. I think the key to a good blend is to start off with a texture as close to your own hair as possible but it’s nothing to crazy right?

hi-does one need to buy TWO or three bundles or just one bundle is enuf? meaning do i need to pay 26,000 times 2 to get the 20" weave? Or just 26,000?
Ifeyinwa says
Hi Fola, the minimum number of bundles you'll need is 2 for a weave. I'd only recommend one pack if you wanted tracks i.e. in between you're own hair and one pack of 20" would be N26,000 x
