Yes I know I’ve been on a hiatus lately but trust me it’s been for a great cause. I’m so excited to share that last weekend I officially launched my all-natural handmade cosmetics range – AJALI. This project has been over a year in the making and it’s been a long road of perfecting formulas, sourcing the right vendors, getting packaging and marketing material right.. Oh so many ups and downs but I’m so relieved and excited about this and what better place to share this than with all of you.
AJALI means “red earth” in Ibo (the language spoken in the Eastern part of Nigeria where I’m from). At AJALI we create 100% natural handmade cosmetics using ingredients indigenous to West Africa such as unrefined shea and cocoa butter, virgin coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil and aloe vera gel. We are a proudly Nigerian company set up to promote local industry and create awareness for living a healthy life. It’s very important to us that we use locally-sourced products to promote job creation and most importantly ethical and fair trade.
We started off by launching 3 products last Saturday at the TWB Souk at Oriental Hotel:
- Whipped Shea & Cocoa Butter Body Soufflé: This moisturiser is made with pure whipped shea and cocoa butter infused with organic essential oils. It melts instantly onto your skin for a smooth and easy finish. Perfect for everyday use as a body or hair moisturiser to rejuvenate skin cells, seal in moisture and even provides mild sun protection! - Sea Salt Body Scrub: This exfoliating body scrub is made with pure sea salt infused with natural shea and organic essential oils. Use once or twice weekly on wet skin to remove dead skin cells, stimulate skin circulation and promote detoxification. Follow up with AJALI Butter Body Soufflé to leave your skin feeling soft and smooth. All AJALI products come in four delicious signature scents – Original (unscented), Peppermint, Grapefruit and Lavender in 100ml and 500ml jars.

Hi hi,I've got questions.I got the sugar polish,and I'm wondering if its appropriate to scrub after bathing or before.
Hi Evuas! There's not right or wrong order to exfoliate in. I personally like to exfoliate after I've showered so I'm left with the oils on my skin, but some people prefer the other way round. So I'd recommend trying both ways out and sticking to whatever works best for you. Thanks for your purchase, I'd love to hear your thoughts once you've tried it x

Yes!I prefer exfoliating after bathing as well,the scrub leaves an oily finish which can almost pass as a moisturizer/body oil!I love it already and its only been two days(the body butter souffle)and a day(the sugar polish),meanwhile the sugar polish has an amazing scent(I got the grapefruit)that lasts all day when u scrub your whole body!

Hi! It was great meeting you at the souk. Loved your products! Been using it ever since. Bought the raw sugar body scrub, the sea salt body scrub and the body souffle. Nice to have good, quality natural products here.You know what? Kinda reminds me of Aveda products in the US, especially the grapefruit ones which I love. Really refreshing! Thumps up!
