Let me tell you that I felt like I had lost the right to my firstborn child when I first found out about the Back to MAC recycling program in 2006, nearly a year after my first ever MACpurchase. Even though I’ve been doing it for years since then, I still come across longtime MAC veterans that have no idea that you can get a FREE full-size MAC lipstick in ANY COLOUR YOU WANT by simply returning 6 empty containers to any MAC counter or online here.

I was in Johannesburg for the long weekend and as always MAC was my first stop! I had a list as long as my arm of products I
wanted to try and pick up, so I was waiting by the door while they opened (like the eager beaver/ makeup junkie that I am)…

So when you get a new lipstick under the Back to Mac program, you don’t get to keep the box, and they scribble something on the label(see the picture below). So I wouldn’t recommend it for gifting purposes. Also you can only choose from their basic Lipstick range (not Viva Glam or any other special editions). But regardless, this is an amazing program because I can’t remember the last time I’ve paid for a lipstick at MAC.
One of the great things about getting to MAC once they open
is all the lipsticks have been disinfected already so you can try on as you please. Also, I find the MAC artists are a lot nicer to you when the stores quiet. So I was able to try a gazillion
different blushes, eyeshadows, and foundations – I was in beauty heaven. After a tonne of restraint here’s my MAC haul:

The only problem with going to MAC though is you always end
up coming out with a longer list than you went in with. #girlproblems

Would be lovely if you could do a make up tutorial. I am a total newbie so I d like to know what to put first and why etc. Your make up is really nice in your pics, your tone is even andyou have that glow
